Since the firm’s founding in San Francisco in 1988 as an architecture and interior architecture firm, MWA has gained a national reputation for integrating urban design and community participation into housing, infrastructure and neighborhood revitalization projects. Company History
MWA was founded as a minority-owned firm and remains African-American owned. Nearly half of our
staff members are women and over one-third are minorities—in an industry made up of 17% women
and 10% minorities. We have local offices in San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, and Portland, OR.
